Social documentary is a recording of what the world looks like with focus. It aims at getting attention for issues in the world.

Two related terms are concerned photography, and compassionate photography. 

  Concerned photography also aims at getting attention to certain struggles and big issues in the world. Compassionate photography connects the viewers with what’s happening in the photo to share experiences and emotions.

Migrants camping  This photo is of a mother. The issue in this photo is that more than 2,500 migrant workers camped, having to live in tents and still take care of many children. 
Great depressioin  This photo represents the great depression and collapse of economy. This draws a lot of attention to the issue and history of the Great Depression and the struggle at the time.

Here is another photo of a mother uring the time migrants were camping, she is holding an infant, and trying to keep her children safe and war,this photo shows how much the struggle was.

Depth of Feild

This first photo, has a small depth of feild, because the camera is focused on while the cow in the back is blurred, showing there is not a large depth of feild, since not everything is being focused on. This second photo, shows large depth of field because you can see al the details clearly, everything is being focused on, and nothing is blurred

This first photo of the cherries shows unity, by having cherries be the main subject in the photo, it is the only thing you can see in the photo other than the bowl. Similar with the cherries, in the second photo the subject in the photo is the only thing in the image showing unity and focus on the subject. With the 3rd photo, you can see that the focus is on the fruit bowl, and you can tell where the unity in this photo is, the fruits are not scattered around, but in one bowl crowded with each other.
